John A. Ronca Jr. graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. John attended Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California and graduated with a Juris Doctorate Degree (JD) in 1978. In 1979, John graduated from the University of Denver College of Law, earning a Masters in the Laws of Taxation (LLM).

In 1979, John began his law practice in San Luis Obispo, California, concentrating in the areas of Estate and Business Planning. He was certified as a specialist by the California State Bar in the areas of Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law on February 22, 1991. John has received the highest rating awarded by the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell attorney rating service. He is a member of the California State Bar Association and the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association. John has written and published numerous articles and coauthored the Durable Power of Attorney Handbook published by the California State Bar. He was a lecturer of Business Law at Cal Poly.

John currently serves as Chair of the Cal Poly Athletic Director's Council and director of the Cal Poly Foundation Board - he is an ardent supporter of our local university and its students. John has served on numerous other boards and in positions of leadership throughout the San Luis Obispo and Central Coast region, including the Community Board of the French Hospital Medical Center, the Board of Regents of Mission College Preparatory High School, the A.P. Giannini Foundation, the Civic Ballet of SLO, the Rossi Foundation, and the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA), among others. For over a decade, John served as Chairman of the Straight Down Fall Classic Golf Tournament. John’s commitment to his community is matched only by his commitment to his clients. John is married to Tracy - they have two daughters, Stephanie and Rachel, and have loved their newest titles as Grandparents.
